RelayPoint Technologies ("we", "us") collects only what we need to run our business and serve you well, and handles it in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy covers relaypoint.ca, our client portal, and our support channels.

## What we collect

**When you contact us.** Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message. Contact form submissions create a ticket in our private service system so nothing gets lost; we also record the IP address the submission came from, as a safeguard against spam and impersonation.

**When you are a client.** Contact details, site addresses, details of the systems we install and support for you, quotes, invoices and payment records, and the content of support requests. Requests opened or confirmed through the client portal record the IP address they came from — this is a security feature that protects *you*, because we use it to verify that instructions about your systems really came from you.

**Website usage.** We use two kinds of analytics. Google Analytics gives us aggregate statistics (pages viewed, how visitors found us) with IP anonymization enabled. We also use a first-party cookie (`rp_v`, kept for up to two years) that records which pages of our own site a browser visits and for how long. This data stays in our own database on our own server — it is never shared with or sold to anyone. If you later contact us, we use it to understand what you were interested in so we can respond more helpfully. If you never contact us, it is never connected to a name.

**Payments.** Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers. E-transfer and bank payments appear in our accounting records as required by tax law.

## What we don't do

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party marketing cookies. Fonts and other page assets are served from our own domain. Our staff do not access client systems or data except to deliver the services you have asked for.

## Cookies

`rp_v` — first-party analytics, described above. The portal uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. That's it. Blocking cookies won't break the public site.

## Where it lives and how long

Our systems are hosted in a Canadian-owned hosting environment; service records (quotes, invoices, tickets) are kept as long as we operate, because tax law and warranty service require history. Website usage data is kept so we can serve returning clients well. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you at any time (see below); we will do so except where the law requires us to keep it (for example, invoices).

## Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [hello@relaypoint.ca](mailto:hello@relaypoint.ca) and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

## Cameras and monitoring systems we install

If we install cameras or access control for a home or business you visit or work at, the *owner of that system* is responsible for its recordings and their use — see our [Terms of Service](/legal/terms). Questions about a specific system should go to its owner.

We update this policy when our practices change; the date above is the last revision.
